A murder investigation has been launched in Manchester after a 36-year-old man died two days after being stabbed in the leg.

The man was found seriously injured at a house on Berwyn Avenue in Blackley, Manchester, at around 2:45 a.m. on Saturday following reports of a disturbance.

He was rushed to hospital for treatment but died from his injuries on Monday morning.

Greater Manchester Police said a 29-year-old woman, who had initially been arrested on suspicion of wounding and assaulting a police officer, is now being questioned on suspicion of murder.

Police previously confirmed that the officer involved was not seriously injured.
