Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, are preparing to return to the UK after spending six years living in the United States, according to reports.
The couple is expected to relocate from California later this month to a private residence outside London, marking a major change for the family since their departure from Britain and royal duties in early 2020.
Their children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, are reportedly due to begin attending a British school in September.
King Charles is understood to have been informed of the planned move on Sunday. Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales, have also reportedly been told.
However, the return does not mean Harry and Meghan are rejoining the Royal Family as working royals.
There are currently no plans for either of them to resume official royal duties.
A significant change for the Sussexes
Harry and Meghan stepped down as senior working members of the Royal Family in 2020 and subsequently moved to California, where they established their lives away from the British monarchy.
Their decision to return comes after years of strained relations with members of the Royal Family.
The couple’s relationship with the King has shown signs of improvement in recent months, particularly following their visit to see Charles and Queen Camilla in July.
